We make cyclists smile! In the Bosch eBike team, we develop innovative products and services that make eBiking even more fascinating - from highly efficient drives and the first production-ready ABS for pedelecs to smart connectivity solutions.
In this role, you will validate the mechanics of display units, remote controls, and sensor modules for the next product generation of eBikes:
- Shape the future of the next generation of eBikes, validating and testing mechanical parts and assemblies for displays and remote controls.
- Drive the product reliability testing process from initial requirement analysis and concept testing up to the final release for mass production.
- Translate product requirements into mechanical design improvements and technical drawings, coordinating with production plants and suppliers to secure mass-production standards.
- Represent validation and reliability as an active member of the cross-functional project team, supporting the testing teams directly in our production plants.
- Thrive in a multidisciplinary, cross-site team, sharing your technical expertise and aligning test specifications across international Bosch eBike development sites.
What distinguishes you:
Education: Master's or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
Experience:
- Proven experience in the development, testing, and industrialization of complex consumer electronics, automotive components, or outdoor-rated consumer products.
- Demonstrated experience in validation, robustness testing, and reliability verification during both the development and production phases.
Know how:
- Reliability Testing: Strong understanding of environmental and mechanical validation methods (e.g., vibration, thermal shock, ingress protection) for products exposed to harsh outdoor conditions.
- Engineering Methodologies: Familiarity with state-of-the-art development and risk-assessment techniques, such as DRBFM or FMEA.
- CAD and Tolerance Analysis: Proficiency in interpreting 3D designs, mechanical drawings, and conducting basic tolerance analyses.
Languages: Fluency in English (both written and spoken)
Working Style and Methods:
- A structured, analytical, and data-driven approach to proving design reliability and documenting failure modes.
- Strong ability to balance commercial business needs with strict technical quality and safety requirements.
Personality:
- Strong intercultural competence with the ability to collaborate effectively in globally distributed teams.
- Excellent communication skills to align tests and technical specifications across multiple business locations.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
