Job Description: We are looking for a Senior Observability Engineer to design, implement, and manage observability solutions that ensure the health and performance of systems and applications. You will play a central role in building dashboards, alerts, and reports that deliver actionable insights, while helping embed observability practices across the CI/CD pipeline and driving their adoption throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage observability solutions to monitor the health and performance of systems and applications
- Build and maintain dashboards, alerts, and reports that provide actionable insights into system behavior and performance
- Use tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog, Grafana, PRTG or similar to build comprehensive observability platforms
- Diagnose and resolve production issues related to observability and monitoring
- Develop and maintain documentation on observability solutions, including best practices and standards
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure observability is embedded across the CI/CD pipeline
- Promote observability best practices internally, ensuring consistent adoption across the organization
- Continuously evaluate and implement new observability tools and technologies to enhance monitoring and alerting capabilities
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers on observability best practices and tooling
Must-Have:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in modern observability, with a focus on cloud technologies and automation
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Proven experience designing and implementing observability solutions based on open standards
- Proficiency with observability platforms such as Dynatrace, Datadog, Grafana, and/or PRTG
- Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, specifically Azure
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues
- Experience integrating observability practices into CI/CD pipelines
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with proven ability to work effectively across teams
- Quick learner, comfortable adapting to new technologies and methodologies
- Previous experience working in a consulting environment
Would be great if you have:
- Previous experience in software development
- Knowledge of additional cloud platforms and services
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
- Knowledge of security best practices and their application to observability
- Experience with OpenTelemetry or other open observability standards
- Experience defining observability standards, frameworks, and best practices across organizations
