Senior Java Microservices Developer – Banking Solutions

Location & Work Model: Porto, hybrid work model (up to 3 days remote per week).

As a Senior Java Microservices Developer, you will be working for our client, a leader in banking solutions, driving the modernization of Remote Banking (Banque à Distance) services across the Group. You will contribute to building secure, scalable, and high-performance microservices, impacting millions of active users, and shaping the future of digital banking innovation.

Your main responsibilities:

• Architect and develop high-performance REST APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot ecosystems.
• Contribute to technical architecture design, ensuring compliance with security standards, and manage CI/CD deployment pipelines to cloud environments.
• Guarantee code quality through automated testing and code reviews; mentor junior developers.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, take ownership of technical tasks, and collaborate closely with Product Owners and Tech Leads.
• Proactively anticipate technical risks, propose solutions to optimize system performance, and continuously improve team practices.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• At least 5 years of experience in Java development within banking or financial services (preferred, but not mandatory).
• Strong hands-on experience with Java (latest versions) and Spring Boot (Spring Boot 3.x is a plus).
• Practical knowledge of BPCE-SI tooling & DevOps tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Oracle.
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture, API-first design, and secure coding practices.
• High level of autonomy, problem-solving skills, proactive mindset, and excellent teamwork.

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Previous experience working within the banking sector, particularly on secure, transactional systems.
• Knowledge of PHP or .NET to support legacy system migration or maintenance.

Fluent English proficiency.
