As a Mid-Level AI Engineer, you will be working for our client, a forward-thinking leader in the tech industry focused on developing cutting-edge AI-powered features. Your main responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered features, including AI raters, conversational AI modules, and productivity tools.
- Integrate large language model APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.) into scalable, production-ready applications.
- Optimize prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and work with vector databases like Pinecone, Weaviate, and pgvector.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement API and microservice architecture on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Write clean, tested, and efficient code, ensuring high-quality deliverables and sustainable solutions.
- Utilize AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot to accelerate development workflows.
- Engage in continuous learning of ML fundamentals, model evaluation, and understanding limitations to improve model performance.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to peers, product managers, and stakeholders.
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- 2+ years of professional experience in software engineering, preferably with Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience working with language model APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector).
- Familiarity with agent frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or CrewAI.
- Competence in REST/GraphQL API design and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Basic understanding of ML fundamentals such as embeddings, model evaluation, and failure modes.
- Excellent communication skills; able to pair with senior engineers, product, and design teams.
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Experience in Insurtech, Fintech, or other regulated industries.
- Certifications or additional expertise in AI/Machine Learning.
