Agentic AI Lead

As AI becomes central to competitiveness, productivity and service transformation, LBC is expanding its AI Center of Competence and integrating AI into our client offerings, ongoing projects, internal operations and product development.

Your role

• Identify and assess high-value agentic AI opportunities with clients, consultants and process owners
• Design single-agent and multi-agent architectures, including routing, handoffs, memory, state, tool use, escalation and human-in-the-loop controls
• Build production-quality agentic applications using Python and, where relevant, TypeScript or equivalent technologies
• Develop secure tools and integrations with APIs, databases, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, ERP, CRM, document platforms and enterprise workflows
• Establish patterns for permissions, authentication, structured outputs, error recovery, execution limits and responsible autonomy
• Define evaluation frameworks covering task completion, factual accuracy, tool selection, action correctness, robustness, latency and cost
• Implement tracing, observability, operational dashboards and production support for agentic systems
• Protect solutions against prompt injection, data leakage, excessive permissions, unsafe actions and uncontrolled execution
• Lead client discovery and architecture workshops, support proposals and provide technical leadership on flagship engagements
• Create reusable agent templates, connectors, reference architectures, guardrails and delivery standards
• Develop internal LBC agents and convert successful solutions into repeatable accelerators, products or managed services
• Mentor AI engineers and help build LBC’s wider agentic AI capability

The Agentic AI Lead will design, develop and industrialise AI agents and agent-based solutions for LBC’s clients and for LBC’s own transformation. This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who combines strong software engineering with practical experience in generative AI, enterprise integration, process automation, security and responsible autonomy.
You will be LBC’s senior specialist in deciding when an agentic approach is appropriate, how much autonomy an agent should have, which systems it may access, where human approval is required, and how agent behaviour should be evaluated, monitored and governed.

What we look for

• At least five years of relevant software, AI, machine-learning, data or automation engineering experience
• At least two years of substantive hands-on work with generative AI or agentic systems
• Evidence of taking AI solutions beyond demonstrations into production or production-like environments
• Strong Python, software architecture and engineering capabilities
• Experience with tool and function calling, orchestration, state, memory, RAG, structured outputs and enterprise integration
• Knowledge of authentication, authorisation, secrets management, testing, evaluation, logging, tracing, cloud deployment and CI/CD
• Practical experience with at least two relevant agent ecosystems or frameworks; strong architectural principles matter more than one vendor
• A portfolio of agentic AI solutions you can explain in depth, including failures, trade-offs, controls and measurable results
• Strong client communication, practical judgement, engineering discipline and intellectual honesty
• Excellent English. Portuguese is highly desirable; French or another relevant language is an advantage
• Consulting, regulated-sector, AI security, MCP, open-source model or multi-tenant platform experience is valuable
